ABOUT THE MUSIC BASE:
At ‘My Music Base’ we make weekly postings to uncover new artists and bands, as well as reviving the music of those from the past. We also post reviews of acts and how they perform live, with the addition of ratings for different aspects of the gigs such as atmosphere, quality of performance and set listings. Furthermore, My Music Base want viewers of our blogs to send us photos and videos of their gigs with a caption of the gig overview which will be shared on our page to give other viewers a further insight the experience of those gigs.
We will also be including a ‘Top 5 of the Week’ in which the viewers can listen to them and read the brief reviews as to why we chose each of the songs. Along with this, there will be a page where viewers can get in touch with us about recommendations or queries you may have for us under the 'Contact' page.
Hi Music Base viewers, I'm Alex and one of the reasons I wanted to start this blog is becuase going to 'smaller' gigs and discovering new talent is something I really enjoy doing in my spare time. I have a really broad taste in music from indie rock to dance tunes as well. I am in full time education and do this as a part time hobby. I hope in the future we will be able to bring you video interviews with some of the bands we go to watch. Due to my wide variety of tastes in genres I go to a lot of smaller gigs as you never know that a band you see at a really small venue could be the next 'Queen' and that's what I love about music! Some of my favourite bands are Queen and Imagine Dragons, I also like artitts such as Eminem, Jake Bugg and James Bay.
Hello I'm Dean, besides going to gigs big or small I also enjoy playing guitar and recording/producing music. But the main reason I started 'My Music Base' along with Alex was because I love watching and reading interviews and reviews on musicians and it inspired me to give it ago. I enjoy listening to both new and old music, one of my favourtie being blues music of artsist such as Elmore James, John Lee Hooker, Freddie King and R.L Burnside and rock bands such as Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, Bruce Sprinsteen and Southside Johnny. I am also currently doing my A-Levels.
